Textos Completos Autorizados

Descriptive analysis of MC4R gene variants associated with obesity listed on ClinVar.

Fuente:Science Progress

Extracto: Further analysis of the relationships between monogenic obesity and diabetes requires additional investigation to discover the underlying causes of these conditions. The study findings imply that mutations in MC4R's topological and transmembrane regions may significantly influence receptor activation and signaling. As more MC4R variants are discovered and their correlation with obesity is established, there is potential to definitively establish a strong connection between MC4R pathogenic variants and the development of obesity.

Intention to use short messaging services for promoting drug adherence among individuals with diabetes in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Fuente:Peerj

Extracto: The findings suggest the majority of individuals with diabetes have intention to use SMS reminders to enhance adherence. This result indicates the potential for utilization of SMS reminders to enhance adherence to diabetic medications. Furthermore, the findings highlight the importance of tailored interventions that take into account patient characteristics and preferences as factors that influence intention when designing such an intervention.

Prevalence of sleep disturbance and its associated factors among diabetes type-2 patients in Saudi Arabia.

Fuente:Frontiers in Public Health

Extracto: The study concluded that diabetes itself can increase the risk of sleep problems, as it is associated with various sleep-related issues such as insomnia, sleep apnea, and restless legs syndrome. Encouraging social support within the realm of healthcare services holds significance in reducing the occurrence of inadequate sleep. For individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, managing their blood sugar levels effectively is crucial for enhancing the quality of their sleep. Furthermore, engaging in regular physical activity is essential for preventing subpar sleep quality.

Pre-infection liver function is associated with all-cause mortality among hemodialysis patients with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant infection.

Fuente:Renal Failure

Extracto: This study underscores that pre-infection liver function, specifically AST, AST/ALT ratio, and prealbumin levels, substantially influence the mortality rates in HD patients following Omicron infection. Therefore, careful consideration of these liver function parameters could guide superior patient management strategies and potentially decrease mortality rates within this at-risk population.
