THE BURDEN OF SIGHT THREATENING DIABETIC RETINOPATHY IN JAMAICA
Jamaica has a high percentage of patients with sight threatening diabetic retinopathy. This has a significant impact on the visual morbidity of our patients. Insulin dependent diabetic patients have a greater odds ratio of developing both proliferative diabetic retinopathy and macula oedema.

Shale gas development in the Marcellus Shale in the state of Pennsylvania began in the mid-late 1990s. This descriptive, epidemiologic study compares milk production, number of cows, and production per cow in select counties in Pennsylvania from 1996 through 2011. It found that milk production and milk cows decreased more in counties with the most wells drilled compared to six adjacent counties with fewer than 100 wells drilled.
