El estudio describe, por primera vez, la expresión del transcripto y proteína Disadherina/FXYD5 en el testículo, epidídimo y espermatozoides humanos. Asimismo, reporta su localización celular y su co-localización con Cadherina Epitelial y la Na,K-ATPasa,

EXPRESIÓN DE DISADHERINA EN EL TRACTO REPRODUCTOR MASCULINO Y EN EL ESPERMATOZOIDE HUMANO

Disadherina/FXYD5 se expresa en el testículo y epidídimo y en espermatozoides del eyaculado humano. La proteína se localiza en el acrosoma y flagelo espermáticos. Su co-localización con Cadherina Epitelial (acrosoma) y la Na,K-ATPasa (flagelo) permite proponer su rol como modulador de ambas proteínas, como se ha descripto en células somáticas.
