Role of interferon gamma as an immunological marker of tuberculosis
SIGNIFICANCE OF PLEURAL FLUID INTERFERON GAMMA IN THE RAPID DIAGNOSIS OF TUBERCULOSIS

Significance of interferon gamma (IFN-g) in pleural fluid was evaluated in the present study and compared with the biomarker adenosine deaminase (ADA) in the diagnosis of tuberculous effusion. IFN-g in pleural fluid was useful immunological marker with high sensitivity and specificity in the differential diagnosis of pleural effusion.
