The immunopathology of type 1 diabetes in the pancreas is still poorly understood. Our observations provide the first direct proof for islet autoreactivity within human islets and underscore the heterogeneous and chronic disease course.

Histopatología de la Diabetes Tipo 1: Nuevos Paradigmas

Las características inmunopatológicas del páncreas en la diabetes tipo 1 se comprenden poco. En el estudio se aporta, por primera vez, prueba directa de reactividad contra los islotes en seres humanos y se pone de manifiesto el curso crónico y heterogéneo de la enfermedad.
