puntero.gif  TISSUE ENGINEERING FOR SOFT PALATE REPAIR
Children with a cleft in the soft palate have difficulties with speech, swallowing, and sucking. Although surgical repair ameliorates soft palate function by joining the clefted muscles of the soft palate, optimal function is often not achieved. Adjuvant strategies based on tissue engineering may improve the outcome after surgery by approaching these specific issues.

puntero.gif  CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION: FROM THE PAST INTO THE FUTURE
Several important components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) have been determined with a lack of scientific basis. Additional investigations to determine the most effective CPR method are necessary to overcome current CPR controversies and introduction of internet or ubiquitous technology to resuscitation medicine is needed to improve the survival rate of cardiac arrest.

puntero.gif  PEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGY, NEURO-OPHTHALMOLOGY AND COMMUNITY OPHTHALMOLOGY: AN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE
neuritis in Indian patients has a different clinical profile as compared to the caucasian population and has worse outcomes. Optical coherence tomography has an important role in the investigative profile of optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis and proves the presence of a sub clinical nerve fibre loss even in eyes without an attack of optic neuritis. Anisometropic amblyopia shows significant risk...

puntero.gif  ULTRASONOGRAPHICAL STUDY OF TRIGGER FINGER
The flexor tendon thickened significantly before patients experienced triggering except in the thumb. In the thumb, the flexor tendon and A1 pulley thickened significantly only after patients exhibited triggering. Thickening of the volar plate appears to have an important role in continuous triggering.

puntero.gif  GLOSSOPHARYNGEAL NEURALGIA: OFTEN A WRONG DIAGNOSIS AND A WRONG TREATMENT
Diagnosing and treating glossopharyngeal neuralgia often is challenging as it is often misdiagnosed and treated as trigeminal neuralgia. With adequate medical therapy in addition to extraoral nerve blocks, most patients respond with satisfactory pain relief. The carious diagnostic and therapeutic strategies are highlighted in the text.

puntero.gif  PREDICTING FUTURE NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES FROM MATERNAL NUTRITION AND NEWBORN BIRTHWEIGHT
Most newborns had normal birth-weights and no significant relationship was observed between maternal nutrition and birth-weights of newborns. Therefore, newborns that participated in this study have reduced risk of contracting non-communicable diseases in the future. Further work is still required because of the lingering arguments on this subject.
