puntero.gif  ADVANTAGES OF PERICHONDRIALLY ATTACHED EAR DICED CARTILAGE IN RHINOPLASTY INDICATORS OF GRAFT CARTILAGE VIABILITY, SHAP
cartilage is elastic, and has a thick perichondrium; it is also easy to harvest and leaves no visible scars. In perichondrially attached diced conchal cartilage, the graft stays in one piece by the underlying soft tissue, and has the capacity to take any form, provide a solid structure, be sutured into place, and even serve as a cover in patients with...

puntero.gif  THE SYSTEM XC- TRANSPORTER AND CANCER-INDUCED BONE PAIN
Cancer cells exist in conditions of elevated oxidative stress. To protect themselves, cancer cells increase the activity of a transport system called system xc- to import necessary cystine in exchange for glutamate. This glutamate is a cell-signalling molecule that has significant implications for bone cell metabolism and pain sensation.
