puntero.gif  HYDROXYAPATITE-COATED POROUS IRON BONE SCAFFOLDS
Hydroxyapatite-coated porous iron was developed for hard tissue scaffolds and its degradation and cell-material interaction were studied. The coating was able to slow down the degradation of porous iron while enhanced viability of human skin fibroblast and human mesenchymal cells. This study showed evidence of the potentiality of bioactive porous iron scaffold in orthopaedic surgery.

puntero.gif  ALTERED SUBCELLULAR DISTRIBUTION OF DISC1, CAMP LEVELS, AND NEURONAL MIGRATION IN SCHIZOPHRENIA AND BIPOLAR DISORDER
DISC1 (disrupted-in-schizophrenia-1) is considered a genetic risk factor for neuropsychiatric disorders. In this study, analysis in human olfactory neuronal precursors of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients showed decreased DISC1 levels in the cytoplasm, cAMP accumulation and diminished cell migration. The results suggest that these disorders share common molecular pathways that could hinder the neurodevelopmental process.

puntero.gif  CHOLINERGIC DYSFUNCTION IN MYASTHENIA GRAVIS- IS IT GENERALIZED?
function testing was done in patients with myasthenia gravis in remission considering it as an index of generalized cholinergic dysfunction. In seropositive patients significant abnormality was found in frequency domain parameters and a trend was noted in duration domain parameters. There was also statistically significant decrease in time and frequency domain (RMSS and HFMD suggesting parasympathetic deficiency and change in low...

puntero.gif  EVIDENCE BASED MANAGEMENT OF FEMORAL HEAD OSTEONECROSIS
Early diagnosis and treatment is essential for the preservation of the hip joint in osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). In advanced femoral head collapse (>2mm), hip preserving procedures are less effective and arthroplasty has a better outcome.

independent predictive risk factors of recurrent stroke differ between young and older stroke patients. Our study reconfirmed that a history of IS or TIA was a strong independent prognostic factor for stroke recurrence, suggesting that the prevention and treatment of these conditions . In addition, DM may not play an important role in the risk of stroke The independent predictive...

The principle of measurement of distance on a plane using image processing based feedback was demonstrated. Errors were seen despite the system having highest possible accuracy of 0.03 mm. These can be improved by building a setup with more precise components and by improving the algorithm analysis to get better results.
