  puntero.gif  ORAL HEALTH PROMOTION THROUGH TEACHERS AMONG RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN
The study found that teachers could be effectively utilized for health and oral health promotion among school children. The frequent interaction by teachers was more effective than infrequent interactions by dental professionals. The children in rural areas require oral hygiene aids besides teacher’s motivation for such interventions to be effective.

The benefits of surgery for supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage (STICH) are still not conclusive. From our review, minimal invasive surgery (MIS) had better outcome than medical treatment for STICH. However, the less favorable outcome of craniotomy may be due to the greater severity of the patients included in the original studies.

The incidence of cattle rabies in Turkey was calculated to be between 0.1 to 3.87 cases/100 000 animals. The cost of livestock rabies in Turkey is $ 250 000 per annum. Based on this data a clear assessment of the cost/benefits of rabies control can be made.

Endoscopic treatment for achalasia is directed at disrupting or weakening the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). As botulinum toxin (botox) is a potent inhibitor of acetylcholine release from nerve endings. The response rates at 1 month following administration are 78% on average (range, 63%-90%).

Histological typing based on cellular differentiation rather than cell of origin is a more realistic approach in diagnosis of salivary gland tumors. Immunohistochemistry has a limited role in diagnosis. Cytoarchitectural features should be correlated with histogenetic concepts for better diagnosis of salivary gland tumors.
