The flexor tendon thickened significantly before patients experienced triggering except in the thumb. In the thumb, the flexor tendon and A1 pulley thickened significantly only after patients exhibited triggering. Thickening of the volar plate appears to have an important role in continuous triggering.

Diagnosing and treating glossopharyngeal neuralgia often is challenging as it is often misdiagnosed and treated as trigeminal neuralgia. With adequate medical therapy in addition to extraoral nerve blocks, most patients respond with satisfactory pain relief. The carious diagnostic and therapeutic strategies are highlighted in the text.

  puntero.gif  PREDICTING FUTURE NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES FROM MATERNAL NUTRITION AND NEWBORN BIRTHWEIGHT
Most newborns had normal birth-weights and no significant relationship was observed between maternal nutrition and birth-weights of newborns. Therefore, newborns that participated in this study have reduced risk of contracting non-communicable diseases in the future. Further work is still required because of the lingering arguments on this subject.

Our experience using oral propranolol to treat 200 infants with hemangiomas suggests that most children have an very good response, with rapid improvement. However, a significant minority do not respond. We recommend that routine inpatient admission is unnecessary.

The hand grip muscle strength decreases as the FVC and FEV1 decreases in patients of COPD. Identifying those patients who have reduced strength and endurance will allow early interventions targeted at improving the quality of life of the patient.

Previous reports tend to emphasize the contraindication aspect of strabismus surgery in exotropic patients with early onset hemianopia. However, this study indicates that this disease should be considered a relative, rather than an absolute, contraindication of strabismus surgery.
