International evidence on costs and effectiveness
Caring for ill children closer to home

Care closer to home (CCTH) services may deliver equivalent outcomes for children, when offered to suitable groups and with appropriate care protocols. When CCTH is used to avoid admission to acute care, burden and costs for families may be reduced. Case and skill mix influence opportunities for reduced health service costs.
