A COMPARISON OF DOXYCYCLINE GEL AND IMPLANT IN PERIODONTITIS

The study found both gel and implant biodegradable drug delivery systems to be equally useful adjuncts to scaling and root planing in the management of chronic periodontitis. The choice of gel or implant media may be based on pocket morphology – the implant being rigid, whereas the gel may be easily syringed into relatively inaccessible areas.
