Abstract
In recent years, there has been flourishing scientific research in the field of tuberculosis (TB), including four main areas - epidemiology, pathogenesis / immunology, diagnosis, and treatment. This article briefly reviews a number of important scientific papers published in 2006 and in 2007 that have a pounding significance in the understanding of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and the infection and disease it causes. Scientific advances, especially those related to diagnosis and treatment, would hopefully contribute to the global control of TB.

Key words
tuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, epidemiology, immunology, antituberculous drugs
