El trabajo contribuye a incrementar el conocimiento sobre la frecuencia de la enfermedad neurológica tratable más frecuente en la infancia, precisar los tipos de epilepsia más comunes y las etiologías que más inciden en su aparición.

PREVALENCIA, SÍNDROMES Y GRAVEDAD DE LA EPILEPSIA PEDIÁTRICA EN CUBA

Con el presente trabajo se determinó que la epilepsia en la población infantil cubana tiene una baja prevalencia, similar a la de los países desarrollados; las epilepsias focales son las más frecuentes, y la mayoría de los niños con la enfermedad presentan un buen control de las crisis.
